Head Boxing trainer
I have been part of Northside Boxing Gym for over 19 years. I have competed and represented the gym around Australia and the world:
- 2 time amateur Victorian champion
- competed in the amateur commonwealth games qualification
- silver medal in the amateur nationals
- 2 fights in Thailand while also training along side some of the worlds best
- 55 amateur bouts
- 7 professional bouts.
Fighting and representing Northside Boxing Gym has been my number 1 goal.
I have been part of Northside Boxing Gym for 4 years, in that time I have competed as an amateur and won 2 state titles. I enjoy the technical side of boxing and tailor my classes around that.
My journey started some three years ago, over a few red wines with Maurice, one of the trainers at Northside. Walking in one Friday afternoon, unfit, overweight and unaware what I was getting into, I changed into my training gear ready to go. Thirty minutes into the hour session I blew a “gasket” and couldn’t continue, but vowed to return as I thoroughly enjoyed the workout and the challenge. Fast forward three years and recently being referred to as “The Skinny Guy”, I’m now taking the Monday sessions and in the process have successfully completed the Level 1 Boxing certificate. The session’s emphasis is to provide you a full body workout through bag work, ring simulation and body weight exercises with the goal to improve individuals fitness and self-esteem.
Monday night sessions are designed for all fitness and skill levels and no one is too young or old to join in and have fun, where individual fitness goals will be realised through hard work and dedication
I look forward to seeing you at one of the Monday night sessions.

I began training at Northside Boxing Gym in 2012. Northside is not only a gym it’s a community and when you train, you’re expected to train hard. This is easy when you have the support of everyone in the gym cheering you on to do and be the best you can. You are pushed to your limits and you learn just how much your body can achieve. Anyone who enters the gym automatically becomes a part of the Northside Boxing family – this is one of the gym’s great aspects. I consider Northside my second family and it truly has become my second home!
I began attending Koder’s all-body workout sessions twice a week. These sessions taught me how to push and challenge myself in all aspects of my training and I achieved great results. Soon after, I decided to raise the bar and train at least five days a week, including Saturday mornings. I was dedicated and passionate about training, so I took the opportunity to run the Saturday boxing session, which I was extremely happy and honoured to do! Now every Saturday at 8.30am (sharp), I run a challenging training session including: boxing, strength and core workouts, ensuring I achieve a versatile and challenging full body workout.
I have been one of the trainers at Northside Boxing Gym for 5 years. I enjoy going in on Saturday morning and challenging every person that comes through the door, from young kids and beginners to professional athletes! What I love most is seeing people grow in confidence and challenge themselves to reach their full potential. It’s rewarding to hear that people love coming to the class and most importantly I get to pass on my passion for boxing and training. It’s great to see the gym’s progress over the years and watch the family grow, especially seeing younger kids coming through! In the words of Northside Boxing Gym, ‘Go hard or go home!’

I joined Northside Boxing Gym in 2016 following a recommendation and dare from Maurice Schott to try out boxing. As soon as I stepped into the gym I knew this was my new calling. I was immediately addicted, not only to the fitness but also to the mental stimulation that boxing provides. I am an accredited Boxing Victoria Coach and have many hours of teaching experience with all ages. Prior to taking up boxing I trained in Tae Kwon Do and achieved 3rd Dan Black Belt. My teaching style focuses on high intensity and high impact with attention to detail, that seeks to strengthen, invigorate and build a body that is resilient and ready for anything that life throws at it. I love seeing others progress and improve. Northside Boxing Gym is a great gym with great trainers who are all there for the right reasons. See you inside the ring!
I’m Wonky; I‘ve been training and boxing at Northside Boxing Gym for over ten years. I’m proud to have been one of the first female boxers at the gym. I was able to achieve this with the respect and philosophy of my coaches, and with my own hard work. I love boxing because it builds my confidence and makes me feel a million dollars, and after moving here from the UK 15 years ago, this gym has also become my ‘family’.
I’m in during the week to assist with coaching, welcome newcomers and to support the members. I also take a formal class on Sundays at 9am. I like to focus on cardio, strength, conditioning, and boxing skills and techniques. My classes often include a lot of bag work, sprinting, combinations, drills and sparring. I also have a love of push-ups and developing upper body strength, so drop and give me five!!! My regular class members are supportive and friendly and welcoming of newcomers at any fitness level and of any age. It’s a great way to start your Sunday! In addition to boxing, I love dogs, making art and walking on the beach when the weather is wild. Look forward to seeing you soon.
I have been training at the Northside Boxing Gym for approximately 10 years. Initially I joined to improve my health & fitness as well as having an interest in boxing. Thanks to the dedication of the coaching staff who are volunteers, my fitness & boxing skills improved. With their help & support this gave me the confidence to compete in the Masters Games in 2015.
In 2017 wanting to help out more in the gym, I completed a boxing trainers course and began taking boxing classes. My classes are a mixture of technique & cardio with an emphasis on HIIT, (High Intensity Interval Training). I believe training should be challenging but also fun and in a safe environment.
Northside to me is a place where you can come and train, improve your skills, make friends and experience a sense of community where everyone is welcome.
