I’m Wonky; I‘ve been training and boxing at Northside Boxing Gym for over ten years. I’m proud to have been one of the first female boxers at the gym. I was able to achieve this with the respect and philosophy of my coaches, and with my own hard work. I love boxing because it builds my confidence and makes me feel a million dollars, and after moving here from the UK 15 years ago, this gym has also become my ‘family’.
I’m in during the week to assist with coaching, welcome newcomers and to support the members. I also take a formal class on Sundays at 9am. I like to focus on cardio, strength, conditioning, and boxing skills and techniques. My classes often include a lot of bag work, sprinting, combinations, drills and sparring. I also have a love of push-ups and developing upper body strength, so drop and give me five!!! My regular class members are supportive and friendly and welcoming of newcomers at any fitness level and of any age. It’s a great way to start your Sunday! In addition to boxing, I love dogs, making art and walking on the beach when the weather is wild. Look forward to seeing you soon.
